NORD est une étude photographique sur l’évolution des territoires contemporains et sur la reconversion du patrimoine industriel le long de l’axe Arras - Anvers. Réalisé entre 2014 et 2015 grâce au soutien de la banque Crédit du Nord, NORD s’intéresse tout autant au bassin minier qu’à la métropole transfrontalière, tout autant à l’agrandissement de l’urbain qu’à la reconversion du patrimoine industriel. S’inscrivant dans la continuité du projet MARGES sur la frontière ville-campagne, NORD suit les transformations des espaces périphériques : des grands chantiers aux zones commerciales, de la gentrification à la réhabilitation industrielle, le corpus aspire à retranscrire l’évolution des paysages et de l’identité de la région Nord-Pas-de-Calais.
NORD (North) is a photographic study on the contemporary territories evolutions and the industrial heritage conversion along the Arras - Antwerpen line. Conducted between 2014 and 2015 thanks to the support of the Crédit du Nord bank, NORD focuses as much on the mining area as the cross-border metropolis, as much on the urban expansion as the industrial heritage conversion. As part of the continuity of MARGES project on the separation lines between urban and rural, NORD follows the transformations of outlying places : from major building projects to commercial areas, from gentrification to industrial rehabilitation, the corpus aims to transcribe the evolution of Nord-Pas-de-Calais's landscapes and identity.

“L’homme est entièrement absent des photographies de Jérémie Lenoir, évaporé dans le dessin géométrique et les aplats chauds de, dissous dans la forme pure et stricte qui défait l’opposition du réel et de l’irréel. Et pourtant cette absence est la condition même de l’immersion. On ne le voit nulle part, parce qu’il est présent partout, non dans le détail mais dans le tout, uni à lui, fondu en lui, et le spectateur lui-même n’occupe plus la position de surplomb de la vie aérienne, tranquille et sereine, il n’est plus dans sa pensée-belvédère à l’abri du contact, au contraire, il a chuté dans le visible, il s’est volatilisé dans l’atmosphère particulière de ces clichés si troublants qu’ils hésitent entre abstraction et empathie.”
