DUST est un travail photographique réalisé entre 2015 et 2017 à Salt Lake City aux États-Unis. Ce projet parcourt la frontière entre l’eau et la terre tout autour du lac salé, là où s’installent les exploitations humaines de sodium, magnésium, potassium et pétrole. Rien n’est retouché ou modifié dans les images ; les formes sont composées par les machines ou les écoulements, alors que les couleurs sont l’œuvre d'algues, de micro-organismes ou d’additifs accélérateurs d’évaporation. DUST poursuit mon étude du paysage en expérimentant les limites du médium photographique et nous met face à la perte de sens et d’identité dont nos territoires contemporains sont les premiers témoins.
DUST is a photographic work produced from 2015 to 2017 in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. This project follows the border between water and land around the Great Salt Lake, focusing on the industrial salt, magnesium, potassium and oil extraction sites. The resulting images were not modified or retouched in any way; the forms they contain are composed of machines and runoff, and the colors are the work of algae, microbes and additives used to speed up the extraction process. DUST pushes my exploration of landscape forward to the limits of the photographic medium, confronting us directly with the loss of meaning and identity to which our contemporary terrain is the prime witness.
